It has been brought to our attention that the name Maise not only applies to an A-MAISE-ING fashion label but to Trent Reznor's (lead singer of 'Nine Inch Nails') favourite pooch!
We are seriously considering getting ourselves a little Maise mascot.

How many times have you watched those 80’s teen flicks…<insert stereotype here>, the audiovisual geek, the head cheerleader, the star quarter back, the class president, and the alternate music guy in the back of the class, a problem, a climax and some kind of foreseeable conclusion characterized by poetic justice and revenge. Predictable as it may have been, you cant deny how addicted we all were, dying to throw the next VHS in.
But here at Maise we decided to not be ashamed of our addiction to vintage teen movies and celebrate the classic genre. Our SS 0910 show was about bringing together everything the teen movies had to offer and mixing it up with a bit of that signature Maise flavour.
Taking place in the graffiti adorned walls of the old chocolate factory, the show itself had all the classic icons of the genre: scoreboards, basketballs, and even sudo-gridiron should pads, all reinvented with a little tongue in cheek humor– only at a Maise show would you find a basketball spiked into the heel of a pair of black stilettos.
The Maise girl depicted a true amalgamation of what the genre offered. We didn’t want our girl to be merely the bimbo head-cheerleader, or the reformed chess club geek. We wanted her to be a little bit of it all, a girl who mixes it up with the geeks, freaks together with the jocks and bitches. She definitely isn’t a hanger-onerer, or a shy misfit she is a defiant rebel, a sassy glamourzon, a bit of a fearless tomboy, but still kind of a humble dork at heart. She knows who she is that’s for sure. And the girls sent down the runway were just that ultra confident, saucy, sporty maisettes.
A huge thanks goes out to the girls at Under the Wing, Ms fitz, the whole team and of course the Pro-teen infused vitaminwater who worked so darn hard to make this the amazing show what it was!!
